Inox Green Energy Services Ltd. (IGESL) has announced its entry into the solar operations and maintenance (O&M) segment by signing an agreement to manage 675 MWp of solar projects. This milestone aligns strategically with the INOXGFL Group’s expanding green portfolio, including its recent foray into solar module manufacturing.
Expanding Horizons in Solar Energy
The newly inked O&M deal marks IGESL’s first step into the solar domain after having established itself as one of India’s leading wind O&M players. The solar projects covered under this agreement are spread across multiple Indian states and are owned by a major player in the renewable energy sector.
Speaking on the development, Mr. SK Mathu Sudhana, CEO of Inox Green, stated:
“We are thrilled to enter into this agreement with a marquee customer. With this, Inox Green has now forayed into solar O&M which offers large-scale growth opportunities for us in one of the fastest expanding industries. We believe that with our expertise, credentials and relationships across customers in India, we will be able to rapidly grow our portfolio of assets under management.”
Strengthening the INOXGFL Group’s RE Integration
This move also complements the INOXGFL Group’s strategic aim of becoming an end-to-end green energy powerhouse. With the group already involved in wind energy manufacturing and solar panel production, Inox Green’s entry into solar plant operations and maintenance completes its reach across the renewable energy (RE) value chain.
With more than 4 GW of renewable assets under management, IGESL is currently the only listed pure-play renewable O&M company in India. Its diversified clientele includes independent power producers (IPPs), public sector undertakings (PSUs), and retail solar and wind developers.
Why Solar O&M is the Next Big Opportunity
As India races toward its 500 GW non-fossil fuel target by 2030, the demand for reliable solar O&M partners is soaring. Efficient operations and maintenance services are critical to maximize output and reduce downtime across large-scale solar farms. Inox Green’s entry into this segment comes at a pivotal time when the industry is preparing for the next phase of aggressive capacity additions.
