Inox Solar, the company of Inox Clean Energy as well as a group company of INOXGFL, has been formally allotted land by the Odisha Government for establishing a world-class solar cell manufacturing unit and solar module factory at Dhenkanal.

The land will be used for a humongous 4.8 GW solar cell and 4.8 GW solar module production unit, placing Odisha firmly in the front line of India’s green energy region. The project is under ₹4,000 crore INOXGFL Group investment proposals announced earlier and has been cleared by the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA). The unit will create more than 3,400 direct and indirect jobs, which will go a long way in augmenting the socio-economic growth of the region.

Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, while declaring the land allotment, said, “We are happy to complement Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of increasing the proportion of renewable energy. This project will create employment opportunities, in addition to establishing Odisha as a green energy hub.”

This project is an extension of INOXGFL Group’s larger mission to fuel India’s clean energy revolution through world-class solar manufacturing plants. The group is the worldwide leader in fluorine chemistry with a 90-year history of innovation across battery materials, specialty chemicals, and renewable energy.

Devansh Jain, Executive Director, INOXGFL Group, said, “We are privileged to partner with the Odisha government in the development of green energy. This land acquisition strategy enables us to play a meaningful role in India’s solar aspirations and also benefit the local community.”

The new facility will integrate cutting-edge technology to deliver high-efficiency solar cells and modules, as part of India’s ambition to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030. The facility will also drive investment down the industrial corridor of Odisha, aided by major state ministries such as Industrial Department, Land Department, Grid Department, and Dhenkanal Administration.

The INOXGFL Group is led by listed companies like Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited, Inox Wind Limited, and Inox Green Energy Services Limited. With operations in more than 16 countries and over 6,400 employees, the Group is propagating sustainability through clean energy solutions and innovative manufacturing.

By this strategic landmark, Inox Solar will pioneer the path to establish India as a global leader in manufacturing solar, powering national and regional clean energy aspirations.
