AMPIN Energy Transition is greenifying Poly Medicure. On April 2, 2025, the two firms signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 9.9 MW solar power. The transaction will provide clean energy to Poly Medicure’s Faridabad, Haryana units. It’s moving in the direction of sustainability for the medical device manufacturer. Here’s what’s happening and why it’s a big deal.

    A 9.9 MW Solar Pact

AMPIN will provide 9.9 MW of electricity from its 75 MWp solar plant in Kurungawali Sirsa, Haryana. Poly Medicure’s five plants at Faridabad will be fueled by this. This is preceded by an earlier 10 MWp PPA between the companies, an indicator of a fledgling association. “Our collaboration with AMPIN Energy is a strategic move towards sustainability and operational effectiveness,” commented Dhruv Baid, Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy, Poly Medicure Ltd. The deal enables Poly Medicure to reduce costs and emissions.

    Why It’s a Big Deal

Solarization is economical and reduces the carbon footprint of Poly Medicure. Solar power is approximately 30% lower than normal discom rates, reports SolarQuarter. It’ll provide 35% of the company’s traditional power consumption. “We are happy to collaborate with Poly Medicure in Haryana on their energy transition journey,” said Pinaki Bhattacharyya, MD and CEO at AMPIN Energy Transition. The project also reduces Scope 2 emissions, as Poly Medicure desires.

    • Solar Supply: 9.9 MW for Poly Medicure’s five units in Faridabad.
    • Source: AMPIN’s 75 MWp solar park in Kurungawali Sirsa, Haryana.
    • Cost Savings: Solar power is 30% cheaper than discom rates.
    • Emissions Cut: Replaces 35% of conventional power, decreasing Scope 2 emissions.

AMPIN is a dominant player in India’s renewable energy sector. It has a 5 GWp asset portfolio spread across 22 states, according to pv magazine India. The company has been very busy in Haryana of late. Another recent acquisition with Varroc Group purchased a 27 MWp solar project in Maharashtra, taking their pan-India capacity to 60 MWp, according to ampin.energy. AMPIN’s thrust on cost-effective, reliable green solutions is winning confidence of partners.

    The Bigger Picture

India’s healthcare industry needs to decarbonise. This type of transaction is an example of the place renewables have to be. Poly Medicure, one of India’s larger medical equipment manufacturers, is leading the way. Solar does not just save money but moves India towards a net zero world. 500 GW non-fossil capacity by 2030 is India’s goal, and this kind of PPA is central to it.

    Challenges and Opportunities

Acquisition of land, clearances, and connection to the grid are a challenge. But the return in the long term in the form of reduced bills, greener power, and enhanced image is straightforward. For Poly Medicure, it’s an addition to its thrust into sustainability. For AMPIN, it is a victory for its fight to initiate India’s energy revolution.

This 9.9 MW contract is sunshine for the two companies. This energizes Poly Medicure’s units but also illuminates India’s future for a cleaner healthcare sector.
