Airstream Renewables Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NexGen Energy Corp., has acquired green-lane certifications for its ₱300 billion worth of wind power projects in Quezon province.

The certifications, issued by the One-Stop Action Center for Strategic Investments (OSAC-SI) of the Board of Investments, signify Airstream’s important step towards renewable energy drive. The green-lane rating will facilitate priority approval of permits for development of the four giant wind farms: the 2,000-MW Real Offshore Wind Farm, the 300-MW Mauban Offshore Wind Farm, the 300-MW Silang Maragondon Wind Farm, and the 200-MW Pandan Labayat Wind Farm.

“These certifications prove our increasing contribution in ensuring a clean, sustainable energy future for the Philippines,” stated NexGen Energy Corp. chief executive and president Eric Peter Y. Roxas. “They also prove the government’s faith in our ability to provide strategic energy infrastructure which addresses the most pressing issues like environmental sustainability, competitiveness of electricity, and reliability of supply.”

Green-lane process was instituted under Executive Order No. 18 signed in 2023 to simplify and accelerate government permits on principal investments in the Philippines.

Airstream has already completed extensive technical, environmental, and social surveys for the projects, including wind resource surveys. For Mr. Roxas, the Silang and Mauban wind farm construction will be completed by late 2027, while Pandan and Real projects will be in operation by 2028.

These projects will be funded by a combination of equity and debt, Roxas added. “We are advanced in talks with several foreign investors who have expressed keen interest in these gargantuan clean energy projects.”

NexGen Energy, which operates in wind and solar energy, already has over 1.5 gigawatts of renewable energy projects in the pipeline.

With such green-lane accreditations to its credit, Airstream Renewables is well set to be a force behind the Philippines’ quest for climate goals and maximizing long-term shareholder value through clean, sustainable growth.
