In an effort to speed up the developments in the renewable energy sector in the state, Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister SS Sivasankar on Tuesday introduced new digital portals to facilitate and encourage the use of solar energy in Tamil Nadu.

The portals will ease the application of the rooftop solar connections and other related services involving solar energy, and households, businesses, and industries can switch to clean energy with ease. The officials claimed that the project would decrease time loss, enhance transparency, and reduce paperwork by processing it end-to-end online.

    Simplifying Solar Adoption

Through the introduction of the portals, consumers become now able to apply, check their status to get approval, and retrieve information concerning the net metering, grid connectivity, and subsidies through one digital platform. This, the government believes, should contribute greatly to the response times and attract more individuals into using solar power.

It is meant to eliminate bureaucracies and ensure that all people can access solar energy, according to the officials at the energy department.

    Focus on Rooftop Solar

The project gives much focus to rooftop solar systems, especially in residential structures, commercial and small scale industries. The state aims to decentralize the generation of power to alleviate the burden in the grid and decrease the consumer price of electricity.

Tamil Nadu has already become one of the most developed states with its capacity of renewable energy in India, and solar power has become more and more significant in relation to the increasing energy demand.

Tamil Nadu needs to be more committed to developing renewable power.

The opening of the portals is according to the state government promise to increase the clean energy infrastructure and encourage the growth of the renewable industry through the private sector involvement. The authorities have reported that the digitalisation would enhance the surveillance of the solar installations and would enhance the quick execution of the projects.

A cleaner energy future is a strategy that aims to eradicate air and water pollution nationwide .Towards a Cleaner Energy Future is a plan that will remove air and water pollution in the country.

Solar energy has become a pillar in the future energy mix of the state government as the consumption of power and the increasing climate concerns grow. It is believed that the new portals will provide new impetus to the renewable energy drive in the state of Tamil Nadu and help in shifting towards more sustainable and greener power system.
