NTPC Green Energy Ltd., the renewable energy division of NTPC Ltd., is initiating a transformative ₹1.8 trillion ($21 billion) green hydrogen hub in Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the project, which is designed to produce 1,500 tonnes of green hydrogen daily and 7,500 tonnes of derivatives such as green methanol, urea, and sustainable aviation fuel. With a massive 20 GW renewable energy capacity, the hub is set to meet both domestic and global demand for green energy solutions.
Transforming High-Emission Industries
Green hydrogen, delivered utilizing renewable energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, gives a sustainable alternative for industries like steel, cement, and refining, which significantly contribute to India’s carbon emissions.
