India’s largest electric vehicle (EV) maker, TATA.ev, has further cemented its base in Mauritius through a strategic alliance with Allied Motors. Launching a large portfolio of electric cars on the island nation is aligned with its sustainable mobility drive. Mauritius is now the first overseas market outside the SAARC region where Tata.ev has launched its electric range. Earlier, the automaker had launched both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles in Sri Lanka.

A New Era of Electric Mobility in Mauritius

The EV line-up comprises the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev—three cars built for efficiency, comfort, and cutting-edge safety. The three vehicles are supported by future-proof high-voltage architectures, with best-in-class performance along with seamless terrain adaptation and lower maintenance needs.

Commenting on this expansion, Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., remarked, “This marks a pivotal step in our global EV journey. Mauritius, with its commitment to green mobility, is an ideal market for our advanced electric vehicles. With our strong partnership with Allied Motors, we aim to redefine transportation in the region.”

James Ngan, Managing Director of Allied Motors, echoed similar enthusiasm: “Our collaboration with TATA.ev is transformative for Mauritius’ automotive sector. These world-class EVs will offer an unparalleled driving experience, combining power, efficiency, and smart technology.”

A Closer Look at the TATA.ev Lineup

    • Tiago.ev: Engineered for effortless mobility, this model offers a real-world driving range of up to 210 km, quick charging (10%-80% in 58 minutes), and premium features like a 10.25” touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and multiple drive modes.
    • Punch.ev: A subcompact electric SUV with a 35 kWh battery offering a range of 270-290 km, seamless connectivity with smartphones, and a premium leatherette finish. Its Auto Dimming IRVM provides enhanced nighttime visibility for a safer drive.
    • Nexon.ev: Designed for superior performance, this electric SUV features a 45 kWh battery, delivering a 350-375 km range with DC fast charging (10%-80% in 40 minutes). It comes packed with a JBL-powered sound system, a 360° surround-view camera, and a voice-assisted electric sunroof.

All models come with an extensive manufacturer warranty, eight years or 160,000 km on the battery and motor, and seven years or 150,000 km on the vehicle itself. Each purchase also includes a complimentary 7.2 kW home charging wall box.

    Commitment to Customer Satisfaction

Allied Motors, the best-in-class automobile distribution network, will cater to total sales and after-sales services. Their trained experts, sales consultants, and service advisors will make the ownership experience easy and simple for Mauritian customers.

Driving the Future of Green Mobility

With the debut of this innovative EV lineup, TATA.ev and Allied Motors are set to revolutionize Mauritius’ transportation landscape. By introducing cutting-edge technology, sustainable solutions, and customer-centric services, the companies are poised to lead the transition to an electric future.
