KPI Green Energy appointed Surinder Kumar Negi as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) from 12 March 2025. With tremendous experience in power transmission, renewable energy, and infrastructure development, Negi brings the organization the ideal professional expertise that will be a game-changer while architecting the future growth story of the organization.

A Veteran in Power Transmission and Renewable Energy

With more than four decades of service in his working life, Negi has earned himself a niche position in India’s power sector. He rose to prominence as an officer of prominent organizations including NTPC, POWERGRID, ALSTOM, Reliance Energy, Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO), and Skipperseil Ltd.

Negi, as Managing Director of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO), led the addition of 21,300 km of cables, 830 substations, and over 23,000 MW of power generation capacity in Gujarat.

His drive for integration of renewable energy into the grid has been welcomed across the board, reflecting his pursuit of clean sources of power.

Strategic Vision for KPI Green Energy

In KPI Green Energy, Negi will oversee the execution of titanic green energy projects, building transmission assets, and increasing the company’s national and international footprint.

His track record of acquiring high-value projects, grid connection, and cost-effective operations is best aligned with the company’s mission of spearheading the clean energy revolution in India.

Dr. Faruk Patel, Managing Director and Chairman of KPI Green Energy, was also thankful for the appointment and added, “We are at the threshold of India’s transition to renewable energy, and the demand for strong, strong transmission infrastructure and large-ticket clean energy projects has never been greater. Negi’s experience in power infrastructure and project implementation will prove to be highly useful as we scale up our solar, hybrid, and transmission projects.”

    Driving Innovation and Sustainability

Negi will lead innovation at KPI Green Energy, i.e., towards leveraging the best-of-breed technology for modernization of the grid and smart management of the energy. His experience demands aggressive implementation of the newest solutions making transmission of power more efficient and reliable.

    Commitment towards Renewable Energy

KPI Green Energy’s hiring of Negi is an indication of its effort to diversify its portfolio of renewable holdings. The company, with its proven track record of developing and operating grid-connected solar energy companies, would seek to capitalize on Negi’s experience in managing the intricacies of renewable integration and infrastructure development.

    Looking Ahead

With the world energy sector going green, KPI Green Energy’s recruitment of strategic management leadership positions it well to capitalize on future clean energy opportunities. Negi’s extensive power business experience and creativity should propel the company towards its aggressive goals in the next two years.

Briefly, Surinder Kumar Negi’s joining as COO is a milestone moment in KPI Green Energy history. With his years of planning and experience, he will execute the company vision of clean and innovative energy solutions to make the company even more market-dominant in the renewable energy business of India.
