KP Group Signs MoU with Gujarat Government
KP Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to invest ₹4,000 crore in large-scale solar and wind-solar hybrid projects. The agreement was signed on 12 January 2026 during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, aligning with the state’s strategy to boost clean energy capacity and attract investments.

Scheduled Capacity and Locations of Project

    • 605 MW of solar power projects
    • 250 MW of wind-solar hybrid projects with interstate transmission system (ISTS) connections

These projects will be deployed in Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch (Bhuj), areas with high solar and wind potential. Implementation will be carried out in stages following statutory approvals, land clearance, and grid access rights.

    Detailed Project Breakdown

The solar component includes standalone and distributed solar projects, including a 200 MW (DC) captive project under the Distributed Renewable Energy Business Program (DREBP) and a 405 MW utility-scale solar array. The wind-solar hybrid projects include 100 MW and 150 MW ISTS-connected segments to optimize grid flexibility and renewable energy corridor efficiency.

    Economic and Social Impact

The project is expected to generate more than 4,000 direct and indirect jobs in construction and operations. Gujarat, already a leading renewable energy state, will see a significant increase in clean energy capacity, further establishing its position as a renewable energy hub.

    Strategic Significance and Future Plans

KP Group, through its subsidiaries KPI Green Energy and KP Energy, plans to expand its portfolio to multi-gigawatt projects by 2030. This initiative will support Gujarat’s clean energy objectives and India’s broader energy transition by promoting sustainable power production and reducing fossil fuel dependence.
