Imagine: you walk into a factory, and instead of just burning through energy, the place is making its own, right there, clean as can be. That’s the future HYDGEN is doing. India’s factories and industries are booming, but so is pollution. This deep-tech startup from Mangalore decided to tackle this problem more smartly. Why not produce green hydrogen on-site with renewable power? Cut the emissions, keep things running, and skip the waste.

    Born from Big Ideas

HYDGEN was founded in 2024, by Dr. Manipaddy Krishna Kumar, Dr. Michael Gryseels, and Dr. Goutam Dalapati. They spent years in research, but they didn’t stop at theory. They built something real: hydrogen production that’s modular, scalable, and happens right where you need it. No more hauling gas across the country, no extra trucks clogging up the roads, no lost energy. Only a pure, clean hydrogen feeding industry.

    Green Hydrogen for Everyone

HYDGEN’s modular electrolysers pull pure hydrogen out of water using renewable electricity. Compared to the old way, grey hydrogen. They cut CO₂ emissions by about 90%. Suddenly, steel, cement, and chemical factories have a cleaner option. The system fits anywhere from a small workshop to a massive industrial park. So, green energy doesn’t feel out of reach.

    Fueling the Next Leap

In October 2025, HYDGEN landed $5 million in pre-Series A funding. Transition Venture Capital led the charge, with Cloudberry Pioneer Investments and Moringa Ventures backing them up. That money is going straight into scaling up the Mangalore plant and rolling out more systems across India and Asia. Investors clearly see more than just a flashy tech; they are betting on a cleaner future for the industry.

    Changing the Way Factories Work

HYDGEN’s on-site solutions are already shaking up how the Indian industry uses energy. Factories are slashing emissions, saving on operating costs, and getting renewables into their daily mix. Early projects in India and Southeast Asia prove this isn’t just talk. Decentralized green hydrogen is already making a difference on the factory floor.

A Roadmap to a Cleaner Future

HYDGEN isn’t just selling some machine. They are giving industries a way to grow without wrecking the planet. The HYDGEN team is showing India how to go low-carbon without losing momentum. Every modular electrolyser brings the country that much closer to its climate goals. Clean energy doesn’t have to be a distant dream; it’s here, it works, and it’s changing everything.
