Each morning, India faces a new pile of waste, plastic packaging, broken gadgets, dead batteries, worn-out tires, and industrial leftovers. The problem keeps growing, outpacing efforts to manage it. While much of this waste could be recycled, most of it lands in overflowing dumps or gets lost in the informal sector. EcoEx looked at this challenge and decided, “We can do better.”

Seeing Value Where Others See Waste

In 2020, Nimit Agarwal and Akshay Rath founded EcoEx because they viewed waste in a new way. Instead of seeing a problem, they saw potential. To them, waste is not just something to discard. When managed well, it can be valuable.

Connecting the Dots with a Digital Marketplace

Amidst all this chaos, EcoEx created a tech-driven marketplace. It connects waste generator brands, factories, and industries with certified recyclers. EcoEx tracks all kinds of waste – plastics, e-waste, used oil, batteries, tires, and more. Everything is logged, verified, and tracked. What was once a black hole for waste now has order, transparency, and accountability.

    Making EPR Easier

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) has always been complicated for Indian companies. EcoEx cuts through the confusion with automated tools, EPR credit trading, paperwork assistance, and straightforward advice. This isn’t just about ticking compliance boxes; it actually helps businesses understand what’s happening and how to do things the right way.

Fueled by New Funds and Big Dreams

In October 2025, EcoEx received $4 million in seed funding from Dovetail Global Fund PCC, Navbharat Investment Fund, and Narnolia Velox Fund. This money is fueling their national expansion, tech upgrades, and the development of their waste commodity app.

    Bringing Order to Chaos

Now, EcoEx works with over 3,000 recyclers and waste collectors. Real-time tracking, digital payments, e-auctions, all on one platform. Through the platform, they have already moved millions of EPR credits and this makes the whole operation transparent and unalterable.

Why EcoEx is a Game-Changer to India.

India is fast becoming sustainable and EcoEx is one of those indications that policy, technology and market forces can indeed collaborate. They are leading India towards a circular economy transaction by transaction by converting waste into a valuable commodity.

EcoEx is not simply picking up the garbage. They are creating the system in a customized way. And in the process, they are also contributing to create a cleaner, smarter and a more responsible India.
