Alpex Solar Ltd, a leading solar energy solutions provider based in Greater Noida, has clinched a significant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract valued at ₹349.99 crore. The contract, awarded by the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, involves the development of a 70 MW grid-connected solar power plant at Nandan Washery in the Kanhan area under Western Coalfields Limited (WCL).

    Project Overview

The project encompasses the complete design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, and commissioning of a ground-mounted solar power facility. In addition to the solar plant, the scope includes the construction of a 32 kV double-circuit transmission line from the main control station to the feeding substation, along with requisite bay extension works. The generated power will cater to various load centers within WCL through open access, ensuring captive consumption of clean energy.

Alpex Solar holds a 70% stake in the consortium executing the project, with NVNR Power & Infra Ltd as the partnering firm. The project is slated for completion within 540 days from the commencement date.

    Strategic Significance

This order is Alpex Solar’s milestone as a trustworthy EPC player in India’s renewable energy sector. Ashwani Sehgal, Managing Director at Alpex Solar, stated, “The new order for CMPDIL is a testimonial to our exemplary efforts, so that we continue to evolve our capabilities to serve the combined opportunity ecosystem of solar energy.”

The project is supporting Coal India Limited’s ambitious vision of achieving 3 GW of renewable power by 2030 as part of a strategic move towards cleaner energy solutions.

    Recent Achievements

Alpex Solar has recently secured multiple orders, cumulatively worth ₹1,068.84 crore, from various organizations, including public sector units and state renewable agencies. Notable among these are:

    • A ₹210 crore supply contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for solar modules.
    • A ₹378 crore order from a prominent industry player in early May 2025 for photovoltaic module supply.
    • A ₹65.33 crore contract from the Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) to deliver 2,119 solar water pumps under the PM-KUSUM scheme.

These achievements underscore Alpex Solar’s comprehensive capabilities and commitment to excellence in the renewable energy domain.

NSE Emerge listed Alpex Solar deals in the production of photovoltaic (PV) modules by using monocrystalline and TopCON cell technology. It provides EPC services for AC/DC solar pumps in submersible and surface segments. Recently, Alpex incorporated a subsidiary, Alpex GH2 Private Ltd (AGPL), to venture into the green hydrogen business, further diversifying its renewable energy portfolio.
