Adani Green Energy Limited has further consolidated its leadership in the renewable energy landscape of India by commissioning 396.7 MW of new capacity at Khavda in Gujarat and pushing total operational generation capacity to 13,487.8 MW.
In a regulatory filing on Thursday, AGEL announced that the newly operational capacity was delivered through its wholly owned step-down subsidiaries, marking yet another important milestone on the road to helping India achieve its clean energy goals.
Breakdown of Commissioned Projects
The commissioned projects form a portfolio of solar and wind installations, strengthening AGEL’s diversification focus for building a renewable portfolio:
- Adani Renewable Energy Fifty Six Limited: This has commissioned a 200 MW solar project.
- Adani Green Energy Twenty Four A Limited: An additional 87.5 MW solar project has been accomplished.
- Adani Renewable Energy Forty One Limited: This has commissioned a 109.2 MW wind project.
All of these projects are located in Khavda, one of the critical renewable energy hubs in Gujarat, which is expected to host some of the largest solar and wind installations in India over the next few years.
Pushing India’s Green Energy Frontier
With this expansion, AGEL continues on track to realise its ambitious target of achieving 45 GW renewable energy capacity by the end of 2030, in consonance with the national goal of 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by the end of the decade.
The projects of AGEL pave the way to decarbonising India’s power sector, supporting both national energy security and the global climate agenda.
Conclusion
This latest capacity addition stands testimony to aggressive project execution and consistent investment by Adani Green Energy in renewable infrastructure in India. As global attention intensifies on clean energy transitions, AGEL remains at the forefront, building the largest integrated renewable platform in the world.
