TATA.ev has introduced ‘Open Collaboration 2.0,’ a comprehensive initiative that aims to transform the EV charging ecosystem. Launched on thrusday this initiative will increase the nation’s EV charging points by more than twice, up to 400,000 points by 2027. The achievement goes hand-in-hand with the landmark of TATA.ev selling over two lakh electric vehicles, reaffirming its pledge for sustainable mobility.

‘Open Collaboration 2.0’ launches four fundamental initiatives designed to simplify EV adoption and boost the user experience:

    • Mega Chargers Deployment: A pan-India rollout of 500 ‘Mega Chargers’ with Tata Power, ChargeZone, Statiq, and Zeon, strategically situated in metro cities and on highways.
    • Unified Call Centre: 24×7 call centre support for customers facing domestic and public charging faults, emergency repair, and trip planning.
    • Seamless Payment System: One RFID card for easy payment on various charging networks.
    • Quality Certification: Audit-based rating scheme to verify high-performance chargers, followed by ‘TATA.ev Verified’ logo for the top-rated ones.

    Collaboration for Expansion

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of TATA, reflected on the initiative’s impact.ev, remarked, “To enable the exponential growth of EVs in India, we’ve launched ‘Open Collaboration 2.0’, aiming to expand the charging network to over 400,000 points in the next two years, in partnership with leading CPOs.”

The first ‘Open Collaboration’ model introduced in 2023 successfully cooperated with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), doubling public charging points in the country to over 18,000 in just 15 months.

    Charging Without Barriers

The promise of convenience by TATA.ev is realized in its new Mega Charger network, available to everyone with EVs. But TATA.ev customers will be offered perks, with fast track and upto 25% discount on tariff charges—a push to increase loyalty and expand the ecosystem.

Besides this, to address concerns of common issues like ICE cars clogging charging points and non-working points, the company will rate and verify chargers on a five-star scale. locations that are rated four stars and above will be given the ‘TATA.ev Verified’ label and their information will be shown on the iRA.ev app for greater transparency.

    Revolutionizing India’s EV Journey

As India blazes ahead toward an electric future, TATA.ev’s most recent endeavor is a reflection of innovation and environmental consciousness. Driven by comprehensive infrastructure development, ease-of-use solutions, and considerate collaborations, ‘Open Collaboration 2.0’ will be changing the EV journey—a charge at a time.
