Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) unveilis its first-ever battery electric SUV, the ‘e VITARA,’ at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Alongside this flagship electric vehicle (EV), the automaker introduced a range of comprehensive electric eco-solutions, signalling its commitment to revolutionizing India’s EV landscape.

    Innovative Platform and Exceptional Range

The eVITARA, built on the advanced ‘HEARTECT-e’ EV platform, offers exceptional technology and efficiency. With two battery options—49kWh and 61kWh—it provides an impressive range of over 500 km on a single charge. This innovative platform is engineered to set new standards in performance, safety, and reliability for electric vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki aims to position India as a global hub for EV manufacturing. The e VITARA will be exported to over 100 countries, including major markets like Japan and Europe, highlighting the automaker’s dedication to ‘Make in India.’

“India’s quality products and manufacturing scale make it an ideal global base for EV production. This aligns perfectly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for sustainable growth and innovation,” said Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President of Suzuki Motor Corporation.

Features That Define Premium Electric Mobility

The e VITARA combines futuristic design with advanced features, offering a luxurious driving experience. Key highlights include:

    • Integrated digital display system.
    • Twin-deck floating console.
    • 10-way power-adjustable driver seat.
    • Sliding and reclining rear seats.
    • Seven airbags, including a driver-side knee airbag, as standard.
    • Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with 60 advanced features.

Accessible in 10 striking colours, including four dual-tone options, the e VITARA promises to cater to diverse customer preferences.

    Three-Pronged Strategy for BEV Excellence

Maruti Suzuki’s approach to making BEVs desirable revolves around three pillars:

    1. BEV-Dedicated Platform: Optimizing performance through innovative engineering.
    2. Targeted Product Evolution: Designing products that meet customer needs across markets.
    3. Global Economies of Scale: Centralizing manufacturing for world-class efficiency.

    Enhanced Customer Support Network

Maruti Suzuki is establishing 1,500 EV-enabled service workshops across 1,000 cities to support its ambitious EV rollout. These workshops will feature specially trained technicians and state-of-the-art equipment to address all EV-related needs, including charging solutions.

    Phased Rollout Across NEXA Dealerships

The e VITARA will be introduced nationwide through NEXA dealerships in a phased rollout, ensuring customers a premium and seamless buying experience.

“The e VITARA is equipped with premium features like Level 2 ADAS, integrated digital displays, and Next-Gen Suzuki Connect, delivering more than 500 km of range with the 61kWh battery option,” said Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
