Bajaj Auto has started the cheapest electric scooter so far—the Bajaj Chetak C25—which is priced at ₹91,399 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). The scooter has a 2.5 kWh battery with up to 113 km of range and is targeted at low-income urban customers, and it will start delivering to Indian customers in the near future.

    Product Overlook

Bajaj Auto, which is the biggest manufacturer of two-wheelers in India, has recently launched the Chetak C25 electric scooter as the most recent product in the EV portfolio. At a slightly more affordable 91,399 (ex-showroom Bengaluru), the C25 has become the cheapest model in the Chetak family. The fee is inclusive of the PM E-Drive subsidy, and in states that have other EV incentives, the actual price may be even less expensive.

    Design and Features

    • The retro design with a full metal body, the same style language as the Chetak.
    • The product is available in six colorful shades, which include Misty Yellow, Ocean Teal, Racing Red, Active Black, Opalescent Silver, and Classic White.
    • Constructed to be nimble and lightweight, and therefore perfect for maneuvering around the busy streets of a city.
    • The scooter is designed with a younger radical in mind, with a focus on a smooth, trendy, and durable design.

    Performance and Specifications

    • The battery causes the car to move and has a power of 2.5 kWh with a location on a floorboard.
    • Proclaimed range of up to 113 km with a single charge.
    • It has a hub-mounted motor, which is 2.2 kW, guaranteeing smooth and efficient rides.
    • With simple mobility and designed to be very intuitive in handling, it has a light ride unlike other Chetak models.

Competition and positioning in the market

The Chetak C25 is priced as an entry-level electric scooter by Bajaj that directly competes with other low-end electric scooters, including the Ola S1 X, Hero Vida VX2, and TVS iQube. With its rivals operating below cost and yet maintaining a high-quality build, Bajaj will be able to tap into a bigger market share of the emerging EVs in India.

    Availability

The Chetak C25 can now be booked online, as well as in the dealerships around the country, and the deliveries should take place in stages. Bajaj has affirmed that the scooter is going to be offered throughout all the Chetak stores in the entire pan-India.

    Key Takeaway

Bajaj Chetak C25 is a big step towards increasing the availability of electric mobility in India. Its economical price, cool design, and convenient scope will appeal to urban commuters seeking a strong and environmentally friendly alternative to gasoline-powered scooters.
