The compact SUV slots below the EV3 and brings Kia’s EV tech to a more affordable package for European buyers
Kia just pulled the covers off its smallest electric car yet. The EV2 is a compact SUV that sits at the entry point of the brand’s growing EV family. It will be built at Kia’s Zilina plant in Slovakia and sold across Europe.
Buyers can choose between two battery sizes and three trim levels.
Small Footprint, Smart Packaging
The EV2 measures 4,060mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,575mm tall. The wheelbase is 2,565mm, which means decent cabin space for a car this size.
The boot capacity stands at 362 litres. Adjust the rear seats, and that grows to 403 litres. A 15-litre frunk under the hood handles charging cables and small items.
Design-wise, it looks like a shrunken version of Kia’s larger EVs. The tiger-nose face, vertical LED lights, and upright stance all carry over.
Dual Screens and Fresh Software
Kia says the cabin follows a “picnic box” theme meant to feel open and airy. Two 12.3-inch displays sit on the dashboard for instruments and infotainment. A separate 5.3-inch screen handles climate controls.

The car runs on Kia’s ccNC Lite software platform. It supports over-the-air updates and downloadable apps.
Three Trims From Simple to Sporty
The base Air variant comes with dual-zone climate control and 16-inch alloys. Earth adds ambient lighting, 18-inch wheels, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The GT-Line sits at the top with 19-inch wheels, ventilated seats with memory, and Digital Key 2.0.
The safety kit includes Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Follow Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2.0. The party trick is Remote Smart Parking Assist. It lets you park the car in tight spots using just the key fob while standing outside.
Two Battery Options
Kia offers a 42.2 kWh pack with 317 km range and a larger 61.0 kWh unit that delivers 448 km.
Both use 400-volt architecture. DC fast charging goes from 10 to 80 percent in 30 minutes. A 22 kW AC charger fills the battery in about 2.5 to 3 hours. Standard 11 kW home chargers work fine overnight.
Pricing has not been revealed yet. But given its position below the EV3, Kia will likely push hard on affordability when numbers drop.
