Serentica Renewables has entered into a Power Supply and Consumption Agreement (PSCA) with INOX Air Products (INOXAP), India’s leading manufacturer of industrial, electronic, and medical gases. Under this agreement, Serentica will supply 75 megawatts (MW) of hybrid renewable energy to INOXAP’s manufacturing facilities across four Indian states.

    Expanding Renewable Energy Portfolio

The 75 MW of hybrid energy will significantly increase INOX Air Products’ renewable energy portfolio, spanning four of its key manufacturing sites in four different states. This strategic move aligns with INOXAP’s commitment to integrating sustainable practices into its operations and moving closer to its net-zero target.

S K Jena, Head of Operations (LASU & Onsite Plants) at INOXAP, stated, “This agreement with Serentica is a major leap in our decarbonisation journey, as this would enable us to significantly increase the share of renewable energy in our energy consumption mix and get closer to our net-zero target.”

    Serentica’s Hybrid Renewable Solutions

Serentica Renewables, founded in 2022, focuses on decarbonizing hard-to-abate industries by delivering firm, dispatchable renewable energy solutions. Its hybrid renewable energy systems integrate wind, solar, and storage assets to ensure 24/7 reliable clean power supply. The company’s approach enables large industrial customers to transition to sustainable operations across the country.

Akshay Hiranandani, CEO of Serentica Renewables, commented, “The scale and inter-state nature of this project showcases our evolving capabilities to deliver firm, reliable, and geographically flexible clean energy to large enterprises. This project is an important milestone in allowing large industrial consumers such as INOX to make a smooth switch to green operations in the country.”

    Contributing to India’s Net-Zero Ambitions

This collaboration is a milestone in the growth story of Serentica as it forays into clean energy solutions beyond state boundaries. With the supply of hybrid renewable energy to INOXAP’s plants, Serentica continues to push hard-to-abate sectors towards decarbonization and Indian industry towards greater net-zero aspirations.

The partnership between INOX Air Products and Serentica Renewables is an exemplary case of the new phenomenon where industrial companies embrace renewable energy technologies to realize sustainability objectives. As India makes its way on the path towards net-zero, such partnerships will be instrumental in reshaping the energy landscape in India.
