Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has bagged three major domestic renewable energy projects worth approximately ₹1,470 crore. The new orders, distributed across Rajasthan and Gujarat, are indicative of SWREL’s focus on delivering state-of-the-art EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) solutions to India’s clean energy sector.
Foray into Wind EPC with Hybrid Project in Rajasthan
One of the company’s key achievements is foraying into Wind EPC business with a hybrid project of a private Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Rajasthan. The project consists of a 69.3 MW wind balance of plant and a 58 MW AC / 75 MWp DC solar balance of system. SWREL will also commission a 132 kV/33 kV pooling substation, showcasing its strength in integrated renewable energy infrastructure.
This hybrid business is a leap of gigantic proportions for SWREL, broadening the company’s portfolio to move beyond solar power and battery storage solutions. “We are thrilled to move into wind-based EPC solutions and become an even stronger vertically integrated renewable energy player,” said Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO of SWREL.
Big Solar EPC Scores in Gujarat and Rajasthan
Besides its hybrid business, SWREL has also been adjudged the lowest bidder (L1) for a 200 MW AC / 260 MWp DC turnkey solar project of the Gujarat state. The PSU order from a top-ranking organization is a strong validation of the company’s market leadership as a top-ranking EPC player in India’s solar power market.
Aside from its swelling order book, SWREL recently received a letter of award for yet another multi-megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Rajasthan from a local independent power producer (IPP). The project further consolidates SWREL’s position in the country and cements its leadership in India’s renewable energy shift.
Expansion of Renewable Energy Capabilities
With a history of building and running large-scale renewable energy assets, SWREL has a portfolio of more than 21.7 GWp of projects under execution and delivery and completed projects, with another 8.8 GWp under O&M in 28 countries. The new deals reflect that the company is going all out for going vertical in the clean energy sector.
These initiatives align with India’s renewable energy agenda and help achieve the sustainability of the country. The entry into wind-based EPC services is especially significant, placing SWREL in the list of leading integrated renewable energy firms in India.
Building India’s Clean Energy Future
With India still marching towards its ambitious renewable energy goals, such as SWREL, have a crucial responsibility of facilitating the process of accelerating the shift. With its solar, wind, and battery storage systems expertise, SWREL is well placed to spearhead India’s wave of next green energy revolution.
“These project victories are an expression of our strategic intent to provide world-class renewable solutions. We continue to be committed to driving innovation and sustainability in all the projects that we undertake,” said Thakur.
Through these significant contract wins, SWREL will be positioned to better leverage its position in India’s changing energy market, solidifying its position as a reliable partner in the renewables business.
